School of Rock

School of Rock Somerville is in a word AMAZING!! This is the kind of program I only WISHED I had as a kid! All three of my boys are in the performance program coming up thru their rock 101 classes first and I’m beyond thrilled with the results. In such a short time, my kids are playing instruments and singing and exploring music in ways that’s just incredible thanks to the super talented teachers and staff! It is a caring, Wonderful environment for everyone and a safe space for my kids to retreat to when they most need it. They’ve made close friends, and love their teachers so much. To see them performing on stage after learning in such a short period of time brings tears to my eyes! My boys have grown and blossomed thanks to Somerville school of rock, and I am beyond grateful!!

Since taking ownership just 2 years ago, Dante, John and Kristen have established a culture of family, friendship, talent and pride! They lead by example! They put 150% into the school and treat our kids like their own. In return the kids are so proud to be a part of it all! Come to a show and you will see what I mean. The kids are incredibly talented, work hard and make life long friendships. Our daughter has grown so much as a musician. The encouragement she gets from the instructors, directors as well as her peers continues to help her reach new heights! Her older sister graduated from the school a few years earlier but continues her connection playing the drums and working at the school on her summer break from college. We are so proud to be a part of the Somerville SOR family and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone considering. Rock on!!!!!

My son attended a Green Day v. Weezer summer camp and had such a great time. The instructor was great, and he couldn't wait to go each day. The people in Somerville are friendly and helpful. Looking forward to more classes/experiences!

Not sure any review of the School of Rock in Somerville would do it justice but I’m going to give it a shot… Last October our son Matt enrolled in guitar lessons at the SOR in Somerville with very little experience but I noticed a lot of ability which was quickly obvious after a month with his guitar teacher Kylan who is absolutely incredible!!! After a month, in November he also enrolled in a band program there and due to his age landed him in the adult band program “The Barrikades” which just happened to be led and instructed by his teacher where the way we looked at it, the more time with Kylan the better! After just 3 rehearsals, Matt was able play and sit in on a few songs at a house show they did… after 4 months he was able to play another house show doing even more songs with them… and after just 6 months at a recent adult band house show, Kylan had the confidence in Matt to play most of the songs on his own and all The Barrikades did an awesome job for a great entertaining show! It really is hard to believe this all happened for our son in less than a year and although some may say maybe it’s due to more the ability of an individual, it really doesn’t happen without the instruction and confidence Matt got and gets from his teacher Kylan. Megan, Ally, Hailey and the whole staff at the SOR in Somerville have been fantastic and professional to deal with… in fact Matt as a lefty guitarist (where it not being so easy to walk in music stores and locate lefty guitars)… one of the owners John helped locate a great lefty Jackson electric guitar and then a beautiful lefty Fender acoustic guitar which we then easily purchased directly through the school. This SOR location is truly amazing… I can’t sing enough praises!!! (yes, pun intended)

Awesome, accepting place. The kids really learn and enjoy the experience. It’s a place the kids want to be. It brought out my daughter’s inner confidence!
